Tag #14 - Take Your Pick of Pics!

There should be points for dropping a tag in these conditions. Add to the conditions the actual location and it should be double points...no, make that triple points!

Sunday morning...it's 8:45am and 58 degrees. I'm all geared up. I depart S.Jordan surrounded by rain.

Half way to the undisclosed location and it starts to rain. Moments later, as I start my ascent, the rain gets heavier and heavier. Crisp cold air, the wet trees...the smells on the way up are intoxicating. Up, up into the clouds it's getting colder and colder. The bike LOVES the cold air and is on top of it's game. I swear it's growling. Was that a snowflake?

Almost there now and the rain has stopped, but I"m wet and it's really pretty cold now. Pass a few more slow pokes as I near the top. It's now 9:15am...and at 8,735ft of elevation...I can almost touch the clouds.

While a ride like this is no biggie for someone of my experience, dedication and well, let's just face it...pure "cojones", I think the rest of you sods better wait until it's warmer and dryer. If any of you feel like you can handle it, let me know before you leave and I'll put Wasatch Rescue on alert. ;-)

Seriously though, one of the best things about riding a motorcycle is being out in the elements. Feeling the air/wind/rain, smelling the smells, and knowing that you are a part of nature, not just looking at it through a pane of glass. Therefore, not "in the face of", but "in light of" the conditions...this was an absolutely fantastic ride!

THIS IS LIVING!!!
